Providing Vital Relief to Flood-Affected Communities in Sri Lanka

In response to the recent adverse weather conditions that have caused severe flooding in Sri Lanka, the Foundation of Goodness has organised a comprehensive flood relief programme to support the affected communities. This initiative, made possible by collective generosity, has ensured that impactful assistance reaches those in need in the following areas:

– Mudunkotuwa North, Mudunkotuwa East, Kahangama, and Mathuwagama (Ratnapura District) – distributed

– Thawalama, Hiniduma, Habarakada, Koralayagama, Panangala, and Welivitiya-Divithura (Galle District) – to be distributed

So far, 880 families have benefited from the relief efforts, with an estimated 3,520 individuals receiving much-needed aid. The total cost of the project is LKR 679,000, demonstrating the significant resources mobilised to provide this vital support.

The flood relief programme offers crucial resources for the survival of flood-affected victims. The relief packages include essential items such as rice, dhal, wheat flour, soya, biscuit packs, water bottles, Panadol, Siddhalepa, candles, match boxes, and sanitary packs. Through the kindness and compassion of our supporters, we have been able to bring hope and relief to those in desperate need. This assistance is helping families to rebuild their lives amidst the devastation, offering a beacon of hope in these challenging times.

The Foundation of Goodness remains committed to supporting these communities as they recover from the impacts of the flooding. We are grateful for the overwhelming generosity that has made this programme possible and will continue to work tirelessly to provide the necessary aid and resources to those affected.

Together, we can make a difference and help these resilient communities overcome the challenges they face. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this effort. Your support is invaluable and deeply appreciated.
